We have received many an email asking why PayPal is no longer a payment option on our site. Unfortunately, this decision was not ours. PayPal has made the official stance to change their terms and conditions and exclude vape vendors from being able to use their services. Whilst this isn’t ideal, they are a private business and are allowed to do this.
Now, being a vape business, not every financial institution wants to have the task of regularly reading up on the local vape laws or worse, vape laws in a different country. To make this easier for themselves, Visa and Mastercard both have a blanket rule that they don’t want their cards or card processing being used for vape products.
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether Coin and other modern blockchain-based currencies have no such fear, they aren’t governed by laws laid out half a century ago by some old guy trying to line his pockets. They believe it is up to the vendor and customer to make sure what they are doing is legal. This is scary to some people even though there is just as much security as paying with digital money via PayPal and the likes.
Early on we were able to introduce Poli Pay, there was again a lot of confusion and anger over this payment method. The encryption is more secure than most credit card processing but the public perceive this to be more dangerous. We found this a good stepping stone before ultimately securing a credit card payment method.
Now we have a credit card processing option on offer by Payment Express as well as the Poli Pay bank transfer option spoken about before. This should allow most people to use their desired method whilst also being secure. Your account history may not show us by the name you know and love but rather ‘USB CABLE SHOP AUSTRALIA’, this is nothing to be concerned about and we can assure you that it is just us on some paperwork.
If you’re still concerned about your hard-earned dollars, reach out to us via the Contact Us section and we can link you to some of the security methods used by these payment processors!
